My first Young Adult novel, this murder/mystery is set in my hometown of Ironwood, Michigan! Hoping to shed some light on this mysterious neurological disorder, I wrote this and dedicated it to my autistic son. All proceeds of this book will go to the Autism Society of America.

 A dead Ojibwa man, the legend of the Paulding Lights, and a secret that rocks the small communities of the Upper Peninsula.

    Struggling to settle into their new school after moving to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, junior Shannon Colfax finds herself entangled in a feud with popular football jock Brent Duray after he bullies her autistic twin brother, Shane. When an unlikely savior comes to her rescue—Brent’s friend, Cody Williams—the jock and his entourage devise an immediate retaliation plan: Duray promises to leave Shane alone if Shannon and Cody survive the infamous Paulding Light Challenge on Halloween night. 
       Desperate for vindication, Shannon and Cody take the dare to put the jock in his place. As they hike through the Ottawa National Forest in search of a "ghostly" Indian chief that supposedly haunts the woods, they veer off the path, only to discover a dead Ojibwa man—and a sordid secret that spans across the communities across the U.P.
      With Shane savant computer skills, Shannon and Cody gather as much proof as they can to share with Cody's father, the county sheriff. Their snooping sets off a whirlwind of panic, and they find themselves trapped in dangerous game of cat and mouse with the real “spirits” of the forest. Attempting to beat them at their own game, the three friends are kidnapped. Can the true spirits of the Northwoods help guide them safely home so they can finally reveal the truth?

I can't wait! My first Reader's conference at the Fabulous Mall of America - and there is LOTS o' fun to be had! As a writer, this is one of the perks...mingling with other authors, meeting fans (or potentially new readers), and even hobnobbing with some of the models that often grace the covers of our books! Personally, I can't wait to meet Jax Turnya...she does a lot of modeling for Period Images - and she's the model on the front of Pure of Heart! I'm also looking forward to meeting a few authors that I've only talked to online. A cover model photo shoot, a concert by Jackson Young, and a romance cosplay? What more could we want? So, let the party begin...I'm ready to go!

    On September 1, I plan on releasing my first novel, Pure of Heart, on paperback!  The first book in the Pure Escapades series, Pure of Heart has been consistently receiving five star reviews. I haven't decided whether to release it on Lulu directly or do an ISBN for Amazon, etc. I'll keep everyone informed (Please note that the cover is different from the E-book version).
